Landscape Notes: Perfecto Mundo Double White azalea combines the classic appeal of white azaleas with innovative, modern-day performance that will outshine everything else in the landscape. Like the rest of the Perfecto Mundo series, it was selected not just for outstanding rebloom but also for superior spring performance, providing months of color and beauty in sunny to partly sunny locations. Doubled white flower clusters nestle amid deep green foliage.
Exposure/Culture: Perfecto Mundo Double White Azaleas should be planted in full sun to part-sun. They should be fertilized when new growth is just starting in the spring and again after the spring bloom. Use a rose fertilizer. Perfecto Mundo Double White Azaleas take an average amount of water. You will have to water them weekly during the first year as their roots are not established. This plant likes acidic soil and will not grow in alkaline soil.
Perfecto Mundo Azaleas bloom in the spring on old wood. Then the plant blooms in the summer & early fall on new wood. Do not prune until after the spring bloom stops. Cut off the old wood and the azaleas will branch out and flower more after they rest.
Other Notes: With a mounded, uniform habit, this evergreen shrub is low maintenance once established. It has few diseases and its resistance to lacebugs is a big plus. There are multiple ways you can use it in your garden; it is more versatile because it is a rebloomer. In addition to planting in front of the house or on banks, plant one in the role of thriller in a container or as a specimen or focal point in a border. This shrub makes a spectacular backdrop to other plants or to frame an area. Use it in mass plantings, along a boundary, or as edging to a border.
