Landscape Notes: Encore MIscanthus Ornamental Grass, Miscanthus sinensis, blooms early with creamy tan plumes that are followed up with a second round of coppery plumes before frost. A clumping grass of dark green foliage makes the plumes stand out that much more. Great as a specimen, screen, containers, or around a pond’s edge.

Exposure/Culture: Encore MIscanthus Ornamental Grass, Miscanthus sinensis, thrives in partial shade to full sun landscape areas. It prefers rich, moist, well drained soils and very adaptable to a wide range of soil types.

Other Notes: Encore MIscanthus Ornamental Grass, Miscanthus sinensis, is deer resistant. Plumes are great for drying and displaying indoors. It should be left standing through winter months not only for winter interest, but for birds and mammals to use as nesting areas.
