It thrives in well drained conditions and can tolerate clay and loamy soils. “Cherry Dazzle” Crape Myrtle, Lagerstroemia indica is a slow growing plant that will reach only three to five feet in height. Makes an excellent small specimen plant or accent plant.
Exposure/Culture: “Cherry Dazzle” Crape Myrtle, Lagerstroemia indica prefers full sun, moist, well drained soil, but is reasonably drought tolerant. Blooms on current season’s growth, so pruning should be accomplished in late winter. Pruning will increase flower production.
Other Notes: “Cherry Dazzle” Crape Myrtle, Lagerstroemia indica has green foliage with a bronzy cast in the spring, green leaves in the summer, and turning orange-red in the fall. Can be used in small groupings, specimen plant, and even a colorful small screen or hedge. Also used on corners of homes and at entryways.
