Landscape Notes: ‘Lynwood Gold’ Forsythia, Forsythia x intermedia is one of the first shrubs to flower in spring, and really brightens the landscape. It is best used in borders for accent or screening, and should not be used in foundations. ‘Lynwood Gold’ Forsythia, Forsythia x intermedia looks best when allowed to develop its natural shape. This is a very easy to grow shrub that is refreshing at a time when most of the garden is still dull. Simply stated, absolutely outstanding!
Exposure/Culture: ‘Lynwood Gold’ Forsythia, Forsythia x intermedia flowers best in full sun. Prefers well drained, loamy soil, but is adaptable to all but the extremes of wet or very dry. Prune heavily after flowering if desired, then let plant attain its natural, graceful arching habit.
Other Notes: ‘Lynwood Gold’ Forsythia, Forsythia x intermedia has large showy blooms along the entire length of its stems. After flowering splendid deep green leaves emerge lasting through the summer. ‘Lynwood Gold’ Forsythia, Forsythia x intermedia leaves turn yellow with a hint of purple. Several would look lovely scattered in a naturalized area, or it would make a great hedge!
