Landscape Notes: Bloomstruck Hydrangea, Hydrangea macrophylla, is a reblooming mophead hydrangea with rounded flower heads. These flower heads are covered with pink, violet, or blue florets, depending upon acidity levels. Large green leaves are adorned with red veins and petioles. Great for small groupings, specimen, container, hedges, and foundation plantings.
Exposure/Culture: Bloomstruck Hydrangea, Hydrangea macrophylla, thrives in partial shade areas in the landscape. It prefers rich, moist, well drained soils.
Other Notes: Bloomstruck Hydrangea, Hydrangea macrophylla, should be pruned after flowering. Any winter damaged stems should be removed in early spring. Flower color is controlled using aluminum sulfate. Spent flowers should be removed to promote reblooming.
