Landscape Notes: Powderblue Blueberry, Vaccinium ashei, makes a great deciduous eye catching hedge that also serves up delicious fruit loaded with antioxidants. With its late bloom season it is great for areas with late freezing temperatures. Produces clusters with up to 50 berries in them.


Exposure/Culture: Powderblue Blueberry, Vaccinium ashei, requires full sun to thrive. It prefers a well drained moist soil and adapts to a variety of soils.


Other Notes: Powderblue Blueberry, Vaccinium ashei, gives color from spring to fall. White flowers grace the green foliage in spring. Those gorgeous blueberries hanging in there during late summer. Then foliage colors of reds and yellows in the fall complete the cycle before becoming dormant.
