Landscape Notes: Fothergilla works well as a foundation planting, borders, and mass plantings. It has plenty to offer to a landscape with its interesting flowers, good summer foliage, and outstanding fall foliage. Fothergilla is good in combination with Rhododendrons and Azaleas.
Exposure/Culture: Fothergilla prefers moist, well drained soils that are acidic. It will display the best flowering and foliage in full sun but will tolerate partial shade areas.
Other Notes: Fothergilla displays fragrant,white flowers April through early May. It has a dark green foliage during the spring and summer. Fothergilla foliage in the fall displays brilliant yellow, orange, and scarlet leaves.
