It is often sheared as a hedge and rivals Canadian Hemlock as the best conifer for hedges. ‘Leyland’ Cypress, x Cupressocyparis leylandii is an intergeneric cross between Cupressus macrocarpa and Chamaecyparis nootkatensis.
Exposure/Culture: ‘Leyland’ Cypress, x Cupressocyparis leylandii prefers deep, moist, well drained soils, but is adaptable to all bet wet soils. A very easy plant to grow and thrives in full sun. Can be sheared to control size or to develop a very dense screen.
