Unlike many plants, flower production is generous in shade. ‘Wide Brim’ Hosta, Hosta hybrid can be used as single specimans, in massed plantings, in raised planters, or as border plants. The plant is valued for its bold foliage effect and its dense symmetrical habit.

Morning sun can be tolerated however, afternoon sun is deadly to this plant. ‘Wide Brim’ Hosta, Hosta hybrid prefers well-drained, organic soil with adequate moisture. Annual fertilization is recommended, as well as supplemental watering during drought. Remove flower stalks to base after flowers die.
Other Notes: ‘Wide Brim’ Hosta, Hosta hybrid produces purple flowers along a 1.5 -2 Foot stalk during the summer months. Trim Hosta back to ground level in late fall.
